“New York...I didn’t think it was possible but, I fell completely and totally in love with you.”

New York. New York.

Be kind. Stay humble. Appreciate the little things.

These words carry so much meaning for me and I will do my best to live by them. Maybe it was the New York air or the city lights…whatever it was, there was something about spending the summer of 2016 in New York that was completely surreal and magical.

I was lucky. I got to be paid to work and live in New York for two months. I am fully aware of how lucky I am to have been given the opportunity. I am also extremely and forever grateful. There truly aren’t enough words to express my gratitude; however, actions speak louder than words. Therefore, I will do my best to show people how grateful I am, to have been given the opportunity of a lifetime.

I find it crazy that three months ago, New York was just a place on a map. It was a place my parents told me I visited when I was one. It was a place that I would see in the movies and in photographs. However, now…three months later, New York has meaning. It is so much more than just a location with a name or a dot on a map…

Strange faces. New places.

Tall buildings. New beginnings.

One way streets. Scurrying feet.

Public transportation. Complete and total fascination.

Strange faces. New places.

Hello my name is…Nice to meet you.

Capturing every moment, of utter enjoyment.

Strange faces. New places.

Taxi lights. City nights.

Familiar faces. Familiar places.

Consistent routine. Endless caffeine.

Once strange smiles. Suddenly, family for a while.

Each day went by. Time really does fly.

That’s a wrap. Time to head back.

Familiar faces. Familiar places.

See ya later, New York.

Hi again, Los Angeles.

New York...I didn’t think it was possible but, I fell completely and totally in love with you. Thank you for being so good to me. Thank you for giving me one of the best summers ever. I learned so much about the production side of television and how many hard-working people it takes to make a TV show happen. I also learned so much about myself and who I am and I am forever grateful for that.

I am so lucky to have met people who have had such a positive impact on my life. To those who had such a significant impact, I hope you know who you are. Thank you for making my first big production assistant job so much fun. My expectations now are probably way to high for the next production I get to be a part of. I hope to work with you amazingly talented individuals again…and soon!

And to the city of dreams, I hope be back soon to visit and explore all that I have yet to see.

Stay beautiful New York.

Until next time…
